Backstory

Founded by Emelia Black in 2020, Summit Selvage began as an at-home upcycling and repair service to combat textile waste. Wanting to share the empowerment that sewing has given her since childhood, Emelia added classes in 2021 and has continued to grow operations.

Emelia has always known she'd work in the apparel industry, and was a PPE designer for four years before committing to a stint at running Summit Selvage full-time. She has been teaching sewing classes for close to ten years and works as a softgoods technician during the day.

Summit Selvage has hosted 1-4 classes a week over four years, and is proud to have taught sewing skills to hundreds of people.
