9/21 & 9/28: Swimsuit Making with Erica
When: Two session class: Saturday, September 21st and Saturday September 28th, 12-3pm
Difficulty: Basic serger or sewing machine knowledge/experience required
About: Using a serger or zigzag stitch on a regular machine, we will learn how to make
either “seamless” or reversible style bikini bottoms, or with a waistband. On day two we'll make bikini tops. The instructor will provide a pattern for you to print before class in your own size.
What's provided: Sewing machines, tools, and other notions. Please purchase fabric see below. Locally, the store Stitches has some great options just a few blocks away!
What to bring:
-one yard of spandex/lycra swimsuit fabric. It should be 4 way stretch
-1⁄4” swimwear elastic (optional)
-4 spools of serger thread to match fabric
Please note there is a 3 student minimum & 6 student maximum for this workshop.
Instructor:
Erica a professional swimwear patternmaker and seamstress who loves to make
size inclusive swimwear. She specializes in making seamless and reversible styles, and
can help you adjust any pattern to fit your measurements.
Space:
Summit Selvage is located on the corner of 1432 12th Ave and Pike St in Capitol Hill, Seattle. The entrance door code for the 12th Ave side will be sent out before class. The space is down the stairs and the last door on your left. The basement is shared with dance studios, and has unisex bathrooms on the third floor. Parking is a big challenge, but luckily we're 1 block from the 2, 12, and 11 bus stops, as well as .5 miles from the lightrail station.
