10/12: Basic Sewing Techniques with Stitch x Sew
When: Saturday, October 12th, 10:30-2:30pm
Difficulty: Sewing Machine Basics, or comfortable operating a sewing machine
About: Learn basic garment sewing techniques–no serger required! Whether you're
eager to upcycle your wardrobe or want to make it from scratch, this workshop is
for you.
This 4-hour workshop will have a break for lunch.
What you take home: Sewing samples to reference on your sewing journey
What's provided: Sewing machines, fabric, tools, and other notions.
What to bring: Lunch/snacks! Sewing machines are provided, but if you have one of your own feel free to bring it in (just make sure it’s in working order).
Please note there is a 3 student minimum & 4 student maximum for this workshop.
Instructor:
Isabel Rodriguez (they/them) is a queer and nonbinary crafter and founder of Stitch x Sew. When not knitting in local coffee shops, they can be found haunting used bookstores or sewing on their vintage Pfaff.
Space:
Summit Selvage is located on the corner of 1432 12th Ave and Pike St in Capitol Hill, Seattle. The entrance door code for the 12th Ave side will be sent out before class. The space is down the stairs and the last door on your left. The basement is shared with dance studios, and has unisex bathrooms on the third floor. Parking is a big challenge, but luckily we're 1 block from the 2, 12, and 11 bus stops, as well as .5 miles from the lightrail station.
Covid: Masks are currently recommended
Ticket Policy: Your receipt is your ticket. Let me know if you're unable to make the class as soon as possible! Full refunds given up until 2 weeks before class time, class credit given two weeks to two days before class time.The entrance door code for the 12th Ave side will be sent out the day before class.
